Presentation of the case
According to the indictment, Momčilo Mandić was the Assistant Minister of the Interior of the so-called Serb Republic of BiH. It was alleged that on 6 April 1992, Mandić directed an attack against the Training Centre for Personnel of the Republic of BiH Ministry of Interior. By leading the attack, the accused, inter alia, allegedly planned and instigated the unlawful confinement and inhumane treatment of Bosniak and Croat civilians.

Momčilo Mandić was charged with war crimes against civilians and crimes against humanity. On 18 July 2007, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) rendered its first instance judgement in the case of of Momčilo Mandić, acquitting him of all charges.

Momčilo Mandić is currently doing his five year imprisonment sentence in accordance with the decision of the Appellate Panel of Section II for Organised Crime, Economic Crime, and Corruption dated 29 March 2007.
