Walid bin Attash, also known as Khallad, was a top operative of Al-Qaeda. He was arrested in Pakistan in 2003. Before a Combatants Status Review Tribunal on 12 March 2007, Walid bin Attash acknowledged his role in the bombing of the two American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 and in the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000.

On 11 February 2008, the Pentagon made public the indictement against the "September 11 Co-conspirators", involving, among others, Walid bin Attash.
