General introduction
The World Legal Forum (WLF) brings together academics, leading business-people and policy makers to address imperative questions on the future of international law. The WLF is an interdisciplinary, intercultural and intersectoral platform, where speakers from all over the world are able to engage in an open and informal debate about more effective international dispute settlement.
The first WLF will took place in the Peace Palace in The Hague from 10-12 December 2007 as commemoration of the last Hague Peace Conference of 1907. The main theme of the first WLF was ‘Effective International Dispute Settlement’. The audience consisted of judiciary, parliamentarians, policymakers, businesspeople, legal practitioners and academics working in the fields of international law and international relations.
