From 25 May to 21 June 2008, the T.M.C. Asser Instituut will organise the Second Annual Summer Law Program in The Hague in collaboration with the War Crimes Research Office of American University's Washington College of Law (WCL).
The Summer Law Program in The Hague offers participants an opportunity to study some of the most important legal issues today in the heart of the international justice community. In addition to faculty members from the Asser Instituut and WCL, instructors for the programme will include judges, prosecutors and staff members from the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and other international organisations. Visits to major courts and legal organisations located in The Hague are included in the programe. The ABA-approved, six-credit summer programme includes two three-credit courses: International Criminal Law and International Legal Approaches to Terrorism.
The Summer Law Program in The Hague is the product of a unique collaboration between the War Crimes Research Office of American University’s Washington College of Law, established in 1995 to provide specialised legal research assistance to internationalised criminal tribunals, and the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.
There is no open admission to the Summer Law Program in The Hague.
