Presentation of the case
Ranko Vuković and Rajko Vuković were charged with crimes against humanity for the murder and rape of Bosniak civilians. Rajko Vuković was also charged with persecution as a crime against humanity.

On 4 February 2008 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina found each of the accused guilty of crimes against humanity, sentencing them both to twelve years’ imprisonment. However, on 2 September 2008 the Appellate Panel of the Section I for War Crimes of the Court revoked the first instance verdict regarding sentencing, and ordered a retrial before the Appellate Panel.

On 30 June 2009, the Appellate Panel acquitted both Rank and Rajko Vuković of all the charges against them.
