A public hearing will be held at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Wednesday 8 October at 14.00, in Courtroom I, to deliver the Appeals Judgement in Martić case.
Milan Martić appealed the Trial Chamber I decision of 12 June 2007, in which he was sentenced to 35 years’ imprisonment for crimes committed in the early nineties against Croats and other non-Serbs in Croatia. The appeals hearing took place on 25 June and 26 June 2008.
Milan Martić, a former political leader of Croatian Serbs, was convicted on 16 counts of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws or customs of war.
