 International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda 

Duration: Not less than two months to a period not exceeding six months.
Divisions: The Appeals Chamber Support Unit (ACSU) is based in The Hague.

 International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia

Duration: Minimum of three months to a maximum of six months
Divisions: Registry, Chambers and the Office of the Prosecutor

Permanent Court of Arbitration

Duration: Three months (four terms per year)

Special Court for Sierra Leone 

Duration: All internships will be for a period of six months.

Duration: Internships are for a period of between 3 and 6 months.

  International Bar Association’s International Criminal Court Programme

Duration: Internships are for a period of between four and six months. 
Deadlines: All information on deadlines and applications are available here.
NB. Please do not submit applications earlier than one month before the closing date, or your application may not be considered
Allowance:  This position is not remunerated

 Please note, the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal (based in The Hague) does not accept internship applications and kindly requests that you apply elsewhere. 

International organisations

Eurojust

Duration: Variable terms
Divisions: Eurojust offers the possibility of internships for a limited number of persons from the Member States (all EU countries).
Deadlines: Open
Allowance:  No remuneration offered

 European Patent Office 

Duration:  Trainees spend four months with a lawyer / administrator
Divisions: Ten units, including: Legal Research and Administration, European and International Relations, Patent Law, International Legal Affairs, International and Legal PCT Affairs, Contract Law/General Law and Legal Services in The Hague.
Deadlines: 31 October and 30 April (for March and September starts, respectively)
Allowance:  Trainees may receive between € 500 and € 750 per month. 

European Space Agency

Duration: Three to six months (or one-year young graduate trainee programme)
Divisions: The ESA offers a limited number of unpaid placements in both technical and non-technical areas of the Agency.

Allowance: Internships are unpaid, however a daily allowance may be granted of € 20 for non-residents and € 10 for residents. 

Europol

Duration: Minimum period of three months and a maximum period of six months.
Divisions: Current internship vacancies
Deadlines: 1 January, 1 August (for starting dates 1 March and 1 October, respectively)
Allowance: Interns are granted a bursary of € 750 per month

Hague Conference on Private International Law 

Duration: Usually three months in duration.
Divisions: The Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference
Deadlines: Consult the Internships page for Spring, Summer and Autumn 2009 positions
Allowance: No remuneration offered (in exceptional circumstances, some travel costs may be reimbursed) 

The Hague Institute for the Internationalisation of Law 

Duration: Minimum period of three months and a maximum period of six months..
Divisions: Currently there are internship positions available in the field of law and in the field of social and behavioural sciences.
Deadlines: HiiL is in permanent need of interns, therefore there is no deadline for the application for internship positions.
Allowance: Interns are granted a bursary of € 180 per month

Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Duration: The normal duration of an internship shall be between two months and six months.
Divisions: Office of the Legal Adviser, Library of the OPCW Technical Secretariat, Training and Staff Development Branch and Media and Public Affairs Branch
Deadlines: At least three months before the proposed starting date of the internship
Allowance: No remuneration offered

Organization for the Security and Co-operation in Europe

Duration: Internships usually last between two and six months.
Divisions: The Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities of the OSCE is based in The Hague. For internships with the OSCE Secretariat in 2009 (Vienna and Prague), please visit the OSCE website .

Allowance: No remuneration offered

NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency

Duration: The internship will last between three and ten months.
Divisions: Technical Disciplines, Human Resources, Law, Communications, Project Management etc.
Deadlines: Open
Allowance: Interns are paid a lump sum of € 600 per month, pro rata.

Altus Global Alliance

The Altus Secretariat is based in The Hague (although it has centres in Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, Lagos, Chandigarh, Moscow and New York). See Jobs & Internships for more information.

Asser Instituut (T.M.C. Asser Instituut)

Duration: Usually three months in duration.
Divisions: The Institute is composed of several divisions, including T.M.C. Asser Press, International Humanitarian Law / International Criminal Law, European law, European Environmental Law and International Sports Law Centre
Deadlines: Please consult the Institute's Vacancies page for specific vacancy deadlines
Allowance: Traineeships are unpaid, although a monthly allowance of € 230 may be available.

Association of Defence Counsel Practising Before the ICTY

Duration: Unaccredited internships usually last from three months to six months. The accredited internships last for three months. 
Divisions: Defence Teams at the ICTY
Deadlines: Unaccredited internships may commence at any time, in consultation with the Defence Team.
Allowance: No remuneration offered. 

Coalition for the International Criminal Court

Duration: Usually three to four months.
Divisions: The CICC's secretariats in The Hague and New York, as well as in some regional offices
Deadlines: Please visit the CICC's Employment and Internships page or consult The Hague Internship Manual.
Allowance: Internships are unpaid, though small stipends are available to full-time interns when funding allows.

European Centre for Conflict Prevention

Duration: Usually for at least three months (minimum of 4 days a week).
Divisions: Varied (working within the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC))
Deadlines: Usually six weeks in advance
Allowance: ECCP will compensate daily travel expenses to The Hague (up to € 6 per day).

Nederlandse Rode Kruis (The Netherlands Red Cross)

A variety of internship positions (stage in Dutch) are available in The Hague / Den Haag (positions advertised in Dutch). Search under 'Beroepskracht Nederland' for positions in the Netherlands or 'Beroepskracht Buitenland' for positions abroad.

Netherlands Helsinki Committee

Duration: The internships usually last for three months.
Divisions: The organisation of conferences, the NHC contribution to the IHF yearbook, preparation of the NHC annual report etc.
Deadlines: Varied.
Allowance: Interns are given an allowance of € 6 per day and reimbursement of travel and other costs.

The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies

Duration: Variable (possibility of eventual supervision of thesis)
Divisions: National and international security
Deadlines: The HCSS is currently accepting applications
Allowance: Interns will be paid for a commitment of 40 hours per week

Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization

Duration: Flexible (although internships usually last for approx. three months)
Divisions: Consult the UNPO vacancies page
Deadlines: Please apply at least two months prior to preferred starting date 
Allowance: Positions are unpaid

World Legal Forum (WLF)

Duration: The internship will last between three and four months with four or five days a week.
Divisions: WLF secretariat.
Deadlines: Check the WLF site.
Allowance: Traineeships are unpaid, although a monthly allowance of € 280 may be available.
