Zuhdija Tabaković pleads guilty at ICTY 15 Mar 2010
The ICTY has accepted the guilty plea of Zuhdija Tabaković on charges of contempt.

On 15 March 2010, Trial Chamber II at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) accepted the guilty plea of Zuhdija Tabaković, sentencing him to three months’ imprisonment.

Following the Plea Agreement reached between the Prosecution and Defence, Tabaković was sentenced by the Chamber on the opening day of his contempt trial.

Tabaković had been charged with six counts of contempt for agreeing to provide a false statement at the trial of Milan Lukić and Sredoje Lukić. Under the terms of the agreement Tabaković pleaded guilty to three of the six counts in the Indictment, including procuring false statements from two other men. Having accepted the agreement, the Trial Chamber dismissed the remaining charges, in accordance with Rule 62ter of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence.

Tabaković will receive credit for his time already spent in custody and will be eligible for release later this week.
